Darren here, choosing an executor for your Will is one of the most important—and most overlooked—decisions in your estate plan.
Your executor is the person responsible for carrying out your final wishes, paying off debts, and distributing your assets. That’s a big job. And it can be overwhelming if the wrong person is chosen.
You’ll want someone who’s organized, trustworthy, and emotionally capable of managing things during a difficult time. Ideally, someone who can handle paperwork, deal with professionals, and communicate clearly with your beneficiaries.
It doesn’t always have to be a family member—sometimes a trusted friend or even a professional executor is the better choice.
If your current executor is aging or no longer a good fit, now is the time to update your Will.
We’re here to walk you through your options and help make sure your estate plan stays current and effective.
